34. School


Another student and I were selected to paint seasonal pictures for the teachers' dining room, while the rest of the class worked at math. Our classes were taught in the barracks, until camp inmates built our schools. The schools were excellent because teachers throughout the U.S. volunteered to come into the camps. Also, there were qualified Japanese American teachers in camp.
